Fun in Lake Chuck

I know it's been a while since I've last posted anything, we've been very busy the past few weeks. Gavin and I went to Lake Charles to spend my spring break visiting friends and family (we haven't been there since Christmas). It was alot of fun and Gavin got to experience a few firsts.

Like, eating his first bite of a "REAL" Banana

Riding a Bike (okay so he didn't really ride it)

Bungee Jumping (the door frames were too tall for the jumper so his feet didn't reach)

and Wearing Glasses

Needless to say, this was a very eventful week for Gavin. Captain and Kimmie enjoyed waking up to Gavin's smiles and his constant "talking". It seems like all of a sudden Gavin realized he can make noises, because he is ALWAYS talking. He does a great job making the "G" sound. We're trying really hard to teach him ma-ma and da-da, but so far he hasn't said them. A few other things we're practicing is holding his bottle and clapping. Uncle Bryan and Aunt Anna taught Gavin how to rub noses-- and he literally will lean forward and touch your nose with his if you say, "Gavin, rub noses!" It is by far one of the cutest things ever! See for yourself:

Happy Birthday Brooks!!

Brooks turned 25 today! We spent the weekend celebrating his birthday...

First, we went to the Houston Rodeo and saw Clay Walker perform...then him and Brandon went to a gun range to test out some guns, and last night we went to dinner and bowling with some friends. Needless to say, we're exhausted but it was a fun filled weekend!!

Happy Birthday Brooks!

Gavin is 6 months old

Over the past month or so, we've been introducing Gavin to different baby foods. His reactions to each type of food were priceless. In the beginning, we weren't warming the food up, which is why he made so many awful faces. However, we now warm up his food (if its been in the fridge) and he eats every bite.

Gavin had his 6 month doctors appointment where he weighed 17 lbs 6oz and was 27 inches long. Yes, he is in the 75th percentile for his height!! Yea!! Maybe he won't be short like his mommy! Because of how long Gavin is, we had to put away his baby tub (his legs would hang out) and use the bathtub "chair/seat". It was interesting bathing him sitting up, but he LOVED it and kept reaching over the side to grab the floating duck.

Last Saturday we woke up to a surprise... Gavin's two, bottom teeth broke skin. They are tiny, but sharp! He loves when we put our finger in his mouth to feel them.

He is now rolling over from each side and has no trouble getting caught under neath things. Now, we're working on sitting up-- but poor thing-- his head weighs so much he just falls down from the weight of it.

I did it..

Well, I did it! I made a blog. I've been planning on doing this for several months now, but have had some difficulty figuring out how to create the page. It's still a work in progress. Brooks and I wanted to create this blog to let you, our family and friends, in on what's going on in our lives. Gavin is 6 months now and is growing up so fast. This past week he got his two bottom teeth in, started rolling over consistently, and attempted to hold his bottle on his own. He is a blast to play with and smiles at just about everything. Hope ya'll enjoy reading about our lives and seeing pictures of our most recent experiences.
