Here are two pictures of our new home in Saudi. Brooks is there and living in it now. We have a 3 bedroom villa located next to one of the security walls (you can see it in the first picture) and our back yard is on the beach! Yes, that's right-- instead of a 4th wall surrounding our compound, we have a beach, with sand and palm trees.
It was time for Gavin to get another haircut and I was sure he'd do fine with it, but had a little hesitation in the back of mind. However, the moment we walked into the Salon he was excited. He climbed into the chair, starting rubbing his hair, and saying "cheese" (I had the camera in my hand).
He saw the bucket of suckers in the middle of his hair cut and needed one. It kept him in the chair so I was willing to let it be a distraction for him. Kimmie came to watch him get his hair cut and he was very proud!
I also got my hair done. A while back I made the decision to dye my hair darker while we live in Saudi. At one of our Saudi wives meeting, it was suggested that we bring our hair color with us and take it into a Saudi salon and have a hairdresser color our hairs. My only thought with that was do Saudi hairdresser's color blonde hair? I also was concerned with the length of time that would go by where my roots would be half way down my head if I needed to wait until we came back to the states for a visit to get my hair done. So, my hair is now my original hair color. It's different, it's darker, but I like it and am already semi use to it.

Love your "natural" hair color! :) It looks really good. Thanks for sharing pics of your new home, I think its very nice! As long as there is you, Brooks, Gavin, and baby, its HOME. :)
your house is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!
Your house is beautiful! That is so awesome that the Sperlings are there too. When my husband's parent's moved there, they had some friends and their siblings move over at the same time. They all became so close and really enjoyed their time together there. Now nearly 35 years later, they all still get together every year to spend time with one another in the states. :) Have fun and find joy in the journey!
I also wanted to tell you how much you have inspired me as a teacher. I am graduated now and starting in the fall teaching 7th/8th grade science. As I went out shopping for all of the cute things for my room, I drew inspiration from your style! :)
