I cheated and used a large heart shaped cookie cutter for the hearts versus shaping them with my spatula while they were cooking!
None of my kids were awake at the same time (or Gavin was at school when the other two were awake) so I never got a picture with all 3 of the Perry kids. At least I managed to get a picture of each of them on Valentine's day.
As you can see- Gavin wasn't in the best mood.. it was 6:15am and he was up really late the night before. He wanted star pancakes instead of heart shaped pancakes and was letting me know that he wasn't interested in what I was making. Boo! It was a rough morning for the two of us.. I even cried and got my feelings hurt since I was trying to do something nice and special, but felt like it wasn't being appreciated. then I had to remind myself he's 3 and I'm emotional right now. Miles on the other hand LOVED the pancakes, was grateful for the chocolate chips I cooked inside his, and even took a stab at and finished off Gavin's plate of barely touched pancakes. Brooklyn didn't get pancakes, but she did get to wear a cute Valentine's outfit!!!
To continue celebrating Valentine's Day my mom and I took the kids, yes all 3 of them, out to lunch at Applebee's! It was the first time I've been out with all 3 kids at the same time.... my mom and Steph were with me though so I wasn't alone, but still, huge accomplishment! We enjoyed our lunch then came back home for naps. After the boys woke up from their naps, we went to the local photo store to have Brooklyn's passport picture taken (total failure by the way) and me and the boys pics for our Igama's. We're in the process of applying for Brooklyn's US Citizenship papers and passport. Once again, my mom and I took all 3 kids out!
When we got home I gave the boys their Valentine's presents-- shovels and sand pails. Not too exciting, but for as much as my boys love playing in the dirt and with the weather getting nice over here, I have a feeling we'll be playing on the beach in the sand in the coming months! The boys loved their gifts and stayed outside for an hour digging up sand and dirt and making holes in our yard!
We ate leftovers for dinner... real fancy, I know. Brooks went and played basketball, I bathed the kids, put them down for bed, then visited with my mom! A fun and exciting Valentine's day!
Hope you got to spend time with the ones you love and had a special day filled with love!
